What is the Wairarapa Moanatanga funding for?

Wairarapa Moana shareholders agreed in October 2006 to establish a funding pool with the following objectives:
  • To assist whanau to be capable, confident and strong within their own identity, culture and heritage as descendants of  the original rangatira of the hapu and whanau of the lake area;

  • To assist whanau to be knowledgeable about what it means to come from Wairarapa and Wairarapa Moana;

  • Make a contribution to the revival of our waiata and tikanga;

  • Help create depth in our paepae across our marae;

  • Strengthen whakapapa connections.
